LONG & WATERSON APARTMENTS - AECOM

Long & Waterson is one of those Shoreditch developments that couldnot get away with feeling average. Set in a conservation area, the schemecombined the conversion of two 1960s office buildings with the construction ofa new courtyard block, creating a high-end residential development with a verydistinct East London character.

Old Offices, New Apartments, Very Little Room for Error

This £40 million development delivers 119 loft-style apartments over 10 storeys in Shoreditch, combining new-build construction with office-to-residential conversion. The project was delivered for AECOM, and the blend of heritage setting, design detail, and high-end finishes meant the final presentation had to be sharp from the start.

Shoreditch Does Notice the Details

A loft-style apartment scheme in a Shoreditch conservation area does not exactly scream “that’ll do.” Between converted office buildings, a new courtyard block, and high-end interiors, the finish had to feel deliberate everywhere you looked.

Paintwork That Pulled Its Weight
This was not a job for patchy walls and half-finished touch-ups. The painting package gave the apartments and internal spaces a clean, confident finish that matched the quality of the scheme.
Old Structure, Fresh Standard
Working across converted office buildings and newly built residential space meant the finish had to feel consistent throughout. The interiors needed to read as one development, not two different stories under the same roof.

High-end residential schemes make even the smallest imperfections stand out. Which meant the finish had to hold up not only from across the room, but right in front of it too.
